Lou Fantasia Planning is able to provide a comprehensive urban and regional planning service to the public and private sectors.
Lou Fantasia is the Director/Principal of Lou Fantasia Planning a town planning consulting business for over ten (10) years. Prior to that he worked in numerous capacities as a planner for more than 20 years, within local government, including City Planner – City of Payneham and Manager-Planning and Development Services City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters. Predominantly he has been involved in development assessment, strategic and policy planning, environmental management, liquor licensing matters, assessment of property development potential and court work in the Environment, Resources and Development Court (ERD Court).
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts (Urban Geography) - Flinders University
- Graduate Diploma in Town Planning - (South Australian Institute of Technology) now University of South Australia
- Graduate Diploma in Property Development - (South Australian Institute of Technology) now University of South Australia
He is a Certified Practicing Planner (CPP) and a corporate member of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA).
For many years now he has been successful for clients in preparing, co-ordinating and facilitating Development Applications through respective Councils. The nature of applications vary from land divisions, changes of land use, and new residential, mixed use developments, major million dollars projects within the CBD and Adelaide Metropolitan Area, commercial and industrial buildings of all types from complying to more complex non-complying development applications.
He is very familiar with conducting planning appeals, compulsory conference process, providing expert evidence and dealing with enforcement notices in the ERD Court.
He also has many years of experience in undertaking site assessments and pre-purchase reports and evaluations and has been involved in a wide variety of complex planning work including strategic planning, project co-ordination, project management, policy development and Development Plan reviews
Lou Fantasia is recognised for his integrity and professionalism and has a strong working relationship with planners in Local Government in South Australia, having worked with many of them when providing locum development assessment services or in previous Local Government positions. He equally has strong working relationships with State Government agencies and organisations.
His technical knowledge, communication and negotiating skills are exemplary and have enabled him to present the clients interests in the best possible manner to achieve timely and positive development outcomes.
